Best Credit Cards for Flipkart Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026: Which Card Saves the Most, and Where the 10% Stops
SBI cards lead on Amazon and Axis and ICICI cards on Flipkart, each with 10% off. The fine print on caps, minimum orders and excluded cards decides whether you get the full amount.
You add a ₹52,999 phone to the cart and choose the card the banner told you to use. The banner said 10% off. The discount that appears is ₹3,000, which is 5.7%. Nothing has gone wrong. You have met the cap.
That gap between the percentage on the poster and the rupees at checkout is the whole subject of this guide. Two sales are running, four banks are involved, and at least five popular cards carry an SBI, Axis or ICICI logo without qualifying for the headline offer. Knowing which card to use for which order is worth more than the discount itself.
Quick Summary
On Amazon, eligible SBI credit and debit cards get 10% instant discount. On Flipkart, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards get up to 10%. For large single purchases the instant discount usually wins. For small orders, or after the cap is used, an uncapped cashback card such as Amazon Pay ICICI (5% for Prime members) does better. The SBI Cashback and Flipkart SBI cards do not get the 10% offer on Amazon.
What We Know
The points below are drawn from Mint’s coverage of the bank offers and from card-offer trackers updated through 10 October 2026.
- Amazon’s sale has been open to all since 8 October 2026. Flipkart’s opened on 9 October, with early access a day earlier for Plus and Black members and Flipkart credit card holders.
- Amazon’s partner is SBI: 10% instant discount on SBI credit cards, debit cards and credit card EMI.
- Flipkart’s partners are Axis Bank and ICICI Bank, with instant discounts of up to 10% on eligible cards.
- The Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card pays 5% cashback to Prime members and 3% to others on Amazon, with no cap.
- Amazon Pay Later offers 10% cashback on eligible purchases. Flipkart Pay Later carries a flat ₹500 off and Flipkart EMI a flat ₹1,000 off.
- Neither platform has announced an end date.
What Is Still Unclear
- Flipkart’s caps and minimum order. Flipkart has not published them. The rupee limit appears on the checkout banner for each product.
- Amazon’s main-sale terms page. The SBI caps quoted here were reported by PickMyCard for the early-deal period from 25 September. Secondary coverage says they carry into the main sale, but Amazon had not published a separate page.
- Stacking on co-branded cards. It is not confirmed whether the Flipkart Axis card pays its regular 5% on an order that also received the sale discount.
- Other banks on Amazon. Some outlets mention a 10% offer on HDFC Bank credit cards. We could not confirm it, so check Amazon’s offer page.
- The Flipkart Axis cashback cap. One source lists ₹4,000 a quarter and another describes the cashback as unlimited.
The Eight Cards That Matter This Season
Almost every festive saving runs through one of these. Four are sale-partner cards that earn the instant discount. Four are cashback cards that pay the same rate whether or not a sale is on.
Why the Amazon Pay ICICI card earns a place in any wallet
It has no annual fee, no cap and no minimum order. A Prime member earns 5% on a ₹300 order and on a ₹3 lakh order alike, and a non-member earns 3%. On ₹50,000 of spending, Prime status is worth an extra ₹1,000 in cashback. The card is issued by invitation, so you cannot count on getting one mid-sale, and its rate applies to Amazon purchases, not to Flipkart.
What the Flipkart Axis card adds, and what it may not
Holders received early access on 8 October and the card is listed for 10% savings during the sale. Outside the sale it pays 5% on Flipkart. The open question is whether both apply to one order. CheQ’s guide cautions that some co-branded cards do not pay their regular cashback on transactions that received a sale discount. Plan on one benefit and treat a second as a bonus.
The logo trap: five cards that miss the SBI offer
Here is the mistake that costs people most. They see “10% off with SBI cards” and assume any card issued by SBI Card qualifies. PickMyCard reports that five types are excluded from Amazon’s offer: the Cashback SBI Card, the Flipkart SBI Card, the Paytm SBI Card, corporate cards, and RuPay credit cards when paid through UPI.
The reason is commercial. Those cards already carry a rich everyday rate or belong to a rival platform, so the bank does not fund a second benefit on top. If your only SBI card is the Cashback card, you will earn its usual 5% on Amazon and nothing more.
One ₹40,000 Purchase, Eight Different Savings
A single example shows how far apart the cards are. Take a ₹40,000 laptop or phone. Several sources work through this figure, and the results line up as follows.
It helps to be clear about the two kinds of benefit. An instant discount is money you never pay: the charge on your card is smaller. Cashback is money you pay first and receive later, usually in a later statement, and sometimes in a form you can spend only in one place. The Amazon Pay ICICI card, for instance, credits its cashback to your Amazon Pay balance.
Two things separate the top bars from the rest. The instant discount is double the rate of any cashback card. It is also immediate: the price falls before you pay, while cashback arrives later as a statement credit, points or wallet balance.
Where the 10% Quietly Becomes 5% or Less
Every instant discount has two limits. One is an overall cap for the card across the sale. The other, on many products, is a lower cap for that single order. The poster shows neither.
The phone at the top of this article is a real case. Smartprix reported the OnePlus 13s at ₹52,999 on Amazon and ₹49,999 with an SBI card. Ten per cent would be ₹5,300. The discount given is ₹3,000.
The crossover point worth remembering
An uncapped 5% card overtakes a capped 10% discount once 5% of the price exceeds the cap. With a ₹3,000 cap, that happens above ₹60,000. Below it, use the partner card. Above it, the Amazon Pay ICICI card for a Prime member pays more, though as cashback and not as an upfront cut.
| Order value on Amazon | SBI credit card, 10% | Amazon Pay ICICI, Prime 5% | Cashback SBI Card, 5% | HDFC Millennia, 5% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ₹2,000 | ₹0, below minimum | ₹100 | ₹100 | ₹100 |
| ₹10,000 | ₹1,000 | ₹500 | ₹500 | ₹500 |
| ₹25,000 | ₹2,500 | ₹1,250 | ₹1,250 | ₹1,000 |
| ₹50,000 | Up to ₹5,000 | ₹2,500 | ₹2,000 | ₹1,000 |
| ₹1,00,000 | Up to ₹10,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹2,000 | ₹1,000 |
| ₹1,50,000 | Up to ₹13,750 | ₹7,500 | ₹2,000 | ₹1,000 |
Match the Card to the Size of the Order
Put the caps and minimums together and a simple rule appears for Amazon. Flipkart follows the same logic, with its own numbers shown at checkout.
Flipkart: the same logic, with the numbers at checkout
Flipkart has not published a cap or a minimum order for its Axis and ICICI offers. The rupee figure appears on the product page and again in the payment step. Card Express notes that the cap is typically counted per card for the sale period, and that the platform may track it by customer account, so an add-on card may not bring a fresh limit there. That differs from Amazon, where add-on SBI cards are reported to carry separate caps.
Two practical points follow. Corporate cards are commonly excluded, so use a personal card. And because Flipkart names two banks, a household with both an Axis and an ICICI card effectively has two caps to work with across separate orders.
No credit card at all?
You are not shut out. On Amazon, an SBI debit card earns the same 10% on full payments, up to a reported ₹9,000 for the sale. On Flipkart, check the product page for Axis and ICICI debit eligibility. Failing that, the pay-later and first-transaction offers listed further down give flat amounts of ₹500 to ₹1,000 or 10% on a first order.
| If you hold | On Amazon | On Flipkart | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| SBI SimplyCLICK or SimplySAVE | 10% instant discount | Regular rewards only | Points reversed on discounted orders |
| SBI debit card | 10% on full payment | No sale offer | Debit EMI not covered |
| Cashback SBI Card | 5% cashback, no sale discount | 5% cashback | ₹2,000 cap per cycle |
| Amazon Pay ICICI | 5% Prime, 3% non-Prime | May qualify as an ICICI card; check at checkout | Cashback goes to Amazon Pay balance |
| ICICI Coral or other ICICI card | Regular rewards only | Up to 10% instant discount | Eligible variants not published |
| Flipkart Axis Bank card | 1% on other spends | 10% in sale, 5% year-round | Stacking of the two unconfirmed |
| Flipkart SBI card | No sale discount | 5% cashback | Excluded from Amazon’s SBI offer |
| HDFC Millennia | 5% CashPoints | 5% CashPoints | ₹1,000 monthly cap |
Stacking: What Combines and What Cancels
The checkout applies offers in a fixed order. Understanding it prevents the common disappointment of expecting two benefits and receiving one.
The cost hiding inside no-cost EMI
No-cost EMI returns the interest as an upfront discount, so the instalments add up to the product price. Two charges usually remain: a processing fee from the bank, and 18% GST on the interest component. On a ₹60,000 purchase over six months the extra can run to a few hundred rupees. Card Express notes that on Flipkart the instant discount and no-cost EMI are generally alternatives, and choosing EMI can reduce or remove the discount.
Offers Beyond the Card in Your Wallet
Several payment options sit alongside the bank offers. They are smaller, but they apply when you have no partner card at all.
| Option | Platform | Benefit | Limit or condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Pay Later | Amazon | 10% cashback on eligible purchases | 3 interest-free EMIs on orders of ₹1,500 or more |
| SBI small-order offer | Amazon | 35% cashback | Capped at ₹150 |
| Amazon Pay balance | Amazon | Flat ₹20 cashback | Orders of ₹300 or more in select categories |
| Flipkart Pay Later | Flipkart | Flat ₹500 off | Credit line up to ₹1 lakh |
| Flipkart EMI | Flipkart | Flat ₹1,000 off | Credit line up to ₹20 lakh |
| super.money | Flipkart | 10% off or cashback | First transaction only |
| Gift card bought by UPI | Flipkart | 5% off | Digital gift cards |
A Short History of This Year’s Rule Changes
The pattern across the year is that everyday reward rates have been trimmed while sale-period instant discounts have stayed at 10%. That makes the partner card more valuable during the event and less special outside it.
Before You Tap Pay: Six Checks and One Warning
- Read the offer line on the product page. It states the discount in rupees, the cap and the minimum order for that item.
- Use the partner card on your largest purchase first. The cap is finite. Do not spend it on small items.
- Confirm your card variant qualifies. A bank logo is not enough, as the five SBI exclusions show.
- Decide between discount and EMI. On Flipkart you usually get one. Compare total payable.
- Check your credit limit and online settings. A declined payment during a price drop can cost you the deal.
- Verify the final total. The discount must appear on the payment screen before you confirm.
One more situation deserves a line. If you return or cancel an order, the instant discount is reversed along with the refund, so you get back what you actually paid. The offer terms we reviewed do not say whether the used portion of the cap is restored. If you are unsure about a product, do not spend your cap on it first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which credit card is best for the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026?
An eligible SBI credit card gives 10% instant discount, the highest upfront saving, subject to a minimum order and a cap. The Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card is the best companion: 5% cashback for Prime members and 3% for others with no cap, useful for small orders and once the SBI cap is used.
Which credit card is best for Flipkart Big Billion Days 2026?
Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards get up to 10% instant discount. The Flipkart Axis Bank credit card is listed for 10% savings during the sale and pays 5% cashback on Flipkart through the year. Flipkart shows the rupee cap at checkout, so confirm it on the product page.
What is the maximum discount on SBI cards in the Amazon sale 2026?
PickMyCard reports an aggregate cap of ₹13,750 per SBI credit card and ₹9,000 per SBI debit card for the sale period, with a minimum order of ₹2,490, or ₹4,990 for mobiles. Individual products can carry a lower per-order cap, shown on the product page.
Does the SBI Cashback card get the 10% discount on Amazon?
No. The Cashback SBI Card is reported as excluded from the SBI instant discount, along with the Flipkart SBI Card, Paytm SBI Card, corporate cards and RuPay credit cards paid through UPI. The Cashback card still earns its own 5% online cashback, capped at ₹2,000 a statement cycle.
Can I combine a bank discount with cashback from my card?
Usually not on the same card. SBI is reported to reverse reward points on orders that used the instant discount, and co-branded cards may not pay regular cashback on discounted orders. A bank discount on one card and cashback on a different card for a separate order is the reliable way to use both.
Is no-cost EMI really free during the festive sale?
Not entirely. The interest is given back as a discount, but banks commonly charge a processing fee and 18% GST on the interest component. On Flipkart, no-cost EMI and the instant discount are usually alternatives. Compare the total payable with the price for a full payment.
Do debit cards get the festive sale discount?
On Amazon, SBI debit cards get 10% on full payments, with a reported cap of ₹9,000 for the sale period. Debit card EMI is not covered. On Flipkart, eligibility for Axis and ICICI debit cards is shown on the product page and can differ from credit cards.
Should I apply for a new credit card just for the sale?
Generally no. Approval and delivery can take longer than the sale lasts, each application adds an enquiry to your credit report, and an annual fee can cancel out a one-time saving. It makes sense only if you shop on that platform regularly and will use the card after the sale.
The Short Version
Use an eligible SBI card on Amazon and an Axis or ICICI card on Flipkart for the 10% instant discount, and put your largest purchase on it first. Expect less than 10% on expensive items, because per-order caps apply: a ₹52,999 phone receives ₹3,000. Keep an uncapped cashback card, ideally Amazon Pay ICICI, for orders below the ₹2,490 minimum and for spending beyond the cap. The Cashback SBI and Flipkart SBI cards do not get Amazon’s offer. Read the rupee figure on the product page, check the total before paying, and clear the bill in full.
