Seniors get 50 bps and super seniors 75 bps over the card rate, on deposits up to ₹5 crore; the super senior premium applies only to deposits opened or renewed on or after 1 December 2022. The non-callable column covers deposits above ₹1 crore and below ₹3 crore — note the 444-day non-callable at 6.80% is Union's highest general rate anywhere on the card. Senior and super senior figures are computed from the bank's stated premium rule rather than published row by row.
Bank of Baroda
Public sector · India's International Bank · Est. 1908
Full tenure grid pending. BoB's peak of 6.75% on the 555-day deposit is confirmed across July 2026 industry comparisons, but the bank publishes its tenure card through a JavaScript-rendered page we can't yet read as text. We're locating the underlying rate PDF before publishing the rows.
Canara Bank
Public sector · Bengaluru HQ · Est. 1906
Full tenure grid pending. Canara nests its term deposit table three pages deep. We've traced the path to the term deposit rate page and will publish the grid in the next update. The bank also runs separate 444-day and 555-day schemes and a Canara Green Deposit, each with its own card.
Bank of India
Public sector · Star Bank · Est. 1906
Full tenure grid pending. Bank of India shares the joint-highest PSU rate with Punjab & Sind Bank at 6.85%, on a special tenure. Its site runs the same government CMS that PNB and Union Bank use, so this one should resolve cleanly in the next batch.
Bank of Maharashtra
Public sector · Pune HQ · Est. 1935
Full tenure grid pending. Queued for the next public sector batch.
IDBI Bank
LIC of India and Government of India · Divestment pending
Weakest data on the page. July 2026 comparisons group IDBI into a 6.50–6.85% band without isolating its peak or naming the tenure. We're not going to pick a number out of that range. IDBI also runs a limited-period Utsav FD which has historically paid above the standard card — treat any Utsav rate you see quoted elsewhere as unconfirmed until we check it.
Central Bank of India
Public sector · First Indian-owned bank · Est. 1911
Full tenure grid pending. Central Bank also offers a super senior premium above the standard senior rate. Queued for the next batch.
UCO Bank
Public sector · Kolkata HQ · Est. 1943
Full tenure grid pending. UCO's senior premium has historically been 25 bps on short tenures and 50 bps beyond a year, which is narrower than most peers — worth confirming before assuming the standard 50 bps applies.
Indian Bank
Public sector · Chennai HQ · Est. 1907
Full tenure grid pending. Indian Bank runs named schemes — IND Secure, IND Green and IND Supreme — each on its own tenure and card. Those need checking individually rather than being folded into one table.
Indian Overseas Bank
Public sector · Chennai HQ · Est. 1937
Full tenure grid pending. IOB is one of the banks that pays super seniors 75–80 bps over the card rate rather than the usual 25 bps on top of the senior rate. Queued for the next batch.
Punjab & Sind Bank
Public sector · New Delhi HQ · Est. 1908
Full tenure grid pending. Joint-highest PSU rate alongside Bank of India. PSB runs Dhan Lakshmi and Green Earth schemes on separate cards, and pays super seniors an extra premium over the senior rate.
HDFC Bank
Private · India's largest private bank · Deposits below ₹3 crore
Three different peak rates are in circulation — do not trust a comparison site on this one. Current sources put HDFC's general peak at 6.50% on the 3 years 1 day to under 4 years 7 months band, effective 6 March 2026. Other widely-used rate sites still show 6.60% at 15–21 months, and a third shows 6.45%. We traced the 6.60% version to a rate card published in June 2025 — it is fourteen months old and is being served as current. Until we read HDFC's own card, we're publishing no rows.
What we can support: the card runs 2.75% to 6.50% for general depositors, seniors get a flat 0.50% on top, the 5 years 1 day to 10 years band pays 6.15% and 6.65%, and the five-year tax saver pays 6.40% and 6.90%. HDFC's rate page draws its table in JavaScript, so we're going after the bank's rate PDF instead.
ICICI Bank
Private · Deposits below ₹3 crore
Both peaks confirmed on ICICI's own page today — the bank states general rates run 2.75% to 6.50% and seniors reach 7.10%. Seniors get a flat 0.50%, plus a further 0.10% on the 15-to-18-month bucket alone, which is what produces the 7.10% figure. Tenures run 7 days to 10 years and the tax saver pays 6.50% and 7.10%.
Also confirmed from the official page: premature withdrawal costs 0.50% below one year and 1.00% from one year to under five; at five years and beyond it is 1.00% below ₹25 crore and 1.50% at or above. No interest at all is paid if a domestic or NRO deposit is broken within 7 days, or an NRE deposit within a year. TDS starts at ₹50,000 of annual interest, or ₹1,00,000 for resident seniors.
The tenure grid itself is drawn in JavaScript and isn't in the page source, so the row-by-row rates are still outstanding.
Axis Bank
Private · Deposits below ₹3 crore
Partial data confirmed. The card runs 3.00% to 6.45% general. Unusually, Axis holds its top general rate of 6.45% across a wide span from 15 months out to 10 years, which gives more tenure flexibility than HDFC's single peak band. Seniors reach 7.20%.
Kotak Mahindra Bank
Private · Digital-first banking
Band only. Kotak sits in the 6.50–6.85% group in current comparisons without its peak being isolated. We won't pick a figure out of that range.
IDFC FIRST Bank
Private · Among the highest-paying private banks
Full tenure grid pending. Joint-highest private bank rate alongside CSB. The 7.35% applies from 500 days to three years.
IndusInd Bank
Private · Pan-India operations
Full tenure grid pending. Note the March version of this page carried IndusInd at 7.25% general and 7.75% senior; current comparisons put the peak at 7.00%, so the older figure has been dropped.
Yes Bank
Private · Restructured and recapitalised · DICGC insured
Full tenure grid pending. The March version of this page showed Yes Bank at 7.50% on an 18-month deposit. Current data puts the peak at 7.25%, so the older figure has been dropped rather than carried forward.
Federal Bank
Private · Kerala-based, pan-India · Est. 1931
Band only. The March page had Federal at 7.00% general on a one-to-eighteen-month deposit. Current comparisons place it in the 6.50–6.85% group, so the old figure is not being carried forward.
Bandhan Bank
Private · Microfinance origin · DICGC insured
Weak data. Bandhan appears in the list of banks clearing 7% but without a specific figure attached in the sources we've checked. The March page claimed 7.55% general and 8.05% senior, which we can't currently support and have therefore removed.
CSB Bank
Private · Thrissur HQ · Formerly Catholic Syrian Bank
Full tenure grid pending. Joint-highest private bank rate alongside IDFC FIRST. New to this page — not in the March edition.
Jammu & Kashmir Bank
Private · Srinagar HQ · Est. 1938
Full tenure grid pending. New to this page — not in the March edition.
Utkarsh Small Finance Bank
SFB · Varanasi HQ · DICGC insured
Full tenure grid pending. The 8.10% is specific to the 666-day special. Standard tenures are much lower — around 6.00% at one year and 7.50% at three years — so the headline rate is not representative of the card.
Suryoday Small Finance Bank
SFB · Navi Mumbai HQ · DICGC insured
Full tenure grid pending. Suryoday's curve is flatter than most SFBs — around 7.25% at one and three years and 7.90% at five — so the 30-month peak sits closer to the rest of the card than Utkarsh's does. New to this page.
Unity Small Finance Bank
SFB · New Delhi HQ · DICGC insured
Treat this one with particular care. 8.50% on a 501-day deposit is the highest figure on this whole page, and it comes from a single source rather than the multi-source agreement behind the 8.10% figures. Confirm it directly with the bank before acting on it. New to this page.
Shivalik Small Finance Bank
SFB · Noida HQ · DICGC insured
Sources disagree slightly. One current source puts Shivalik's general peak at 8.00%, another at 7.80% on the 21-to-22-month special. We've shown the higher figure but flag the discrepancy — worth confirming before booking. New to this page.
Equitas Small Finance Bank
SFB · Chennai HQ · DICGC insured
Full tenure grid pending. New to this page.
Jana Small Finance Bank
SFB · Bengaluru HQ · DICGC insured
Full tenure grid pending. One current source puts Jana's three-to-five-year rate at 7.77% and one-year at 7.00%, which sits below the 8.00% headline — another case where the peak is a single special tenure rather than the shape of the card.
Ujjivan Small Finance Bank
SFB · Bengaluru HQ · DICGC insured
Full tenure grid pending. Ujjivan has the joint-highest one-year rate among scheduled banks at 7.25%, alongside Suryoday. The March page showed a 7.75% peak, which current data doesn't support.
AU Small Finance Bank
SFB · Jaipur HQ · DICGC insured
Oldest data point on the page. AU's 7.00% comes from an April 2026 comparison, not a July one — the weakest sourcing of any SFB here. The March page showed 7.50%. Treat as indicative only until re-checked.
Shriram Finance
NBFC · ICRA MAA+ · Not DICGC insured
Partial data confirmed. Seniors get 50 bps, women depositors an extra 5 bps, and renewals of matured deposits a further 15 bps — these stack, so the effective best case sits above the headline 8.00%. Tenures run 12 to 60 months under both cumulative and non-cumulative options.
Bajaj Finance
NBFC · CRISIL FAAA and ICRA MAAA · Not DICGC insured
Partial data confirmed. Seniors get 35 bps, not the 50 bps most banks pay. Minimum deposit ₹15,000, maximum ₹3 crore, tenures 12 to 60 months. TDS applies once interest passes ₹5,000 in a year — a far lower threshold than the ₹50,000 that applies at banks. The top credit ratings in this table.
Mahindra Finance
NBFC · Mahindra Group · Not DICGC insured
Not re-confirmed since March. These figures come from the previous edition of this page and have not been checked against a current source. Verify directly before relying on them.
PNB Housing Finance
HFC · Regulated by NHB · Not DICGC insured
Not re-confirmed since March. The previous edition dated this card to May 2025, which was already stale then. Regulated by the National Housing Bank rather than covered by DICGC. Verify directly.
LIC Housing Finance
HFC · Backed by LIC of India · Not DICGC insured
Not re-confirmed since March. Verify directly before relying on these figures.
Maturity calculator
Quarterly compounding, the Indian bank default
Enter the plain card rate — the depositor dropdown adds the premium on top. Results are before tax.
Deposit insurance
DICGC covers ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank, principal and interest combined. Branches of one bank are pooled. NBFC and HFC deposits get no cover.
TDS thresholds
Banks deduct 10% once yearly interest passes ₹50,000, or ₹1 lakh for seniors. Bajaj Finance deducts from just ₹5,000. No PAN means 20%.
Form 15G and 15H
File 15G under 60 or 15H at 60 and above, at the start of each financial year, if total income is below the taxable limit. It stops the deduction, not the tax.
Section 80C deposits
Five-year tax saver FDs count toward the ₹1.5 lakh limit. No early withdrawal, no loan against them, and interest is taxed in full each year.
