Indian Hotels has entered into a 25-year management agreement to operate The Claridges hotel in New Delhi, effective April, which will boost its presence in major metro areas. The Tata group company also intends to expand its luxury brand offerings in the Delhi-National Capital Region. Indian Hotels Co. Ltd has finalized the deal to manage the historic The Claridges hotel, starting in April, as part of its plan to strengthen its foothold in key metro cities with similar iconic properties. The company will keep the The Claridges brand while renovating the hotel, which was established in 1952 in central Delhi. “The hotel is a notable landmark in Lutyens Delhi and provides an opportunity to enhance our brand presence in this area,” said Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and CEO of Indian Hotels, in an exclusive conversation with Mint. “This (brand) gives us a chance to explore expanding our brand ecosystem within the luxury segment.” Chhatwal stated, “We are considering opportunities to introduce our Gateway and Vivanta brands in central Delhi, which is one of the most famous and beautiful areas in the world, to enhance our brand presence.” On Thursday, Indian Hotels announced a consolidated operational revenue of ₹1,826.12 crore for the second quarter ending 30 September, representing a 27.4% increase compared to the same time last year. Net profit increased remarkably by 225% to ₹23 crore. “For FY25, we are maintaining our forecast of double-digit revenue growth driven by ongoing expansion in new businesses, rather than just comparable growth, and strong same-store performance.” “We are experiencing a 16.5% increase in combined hotel segment revenue in October so far, and this is expected to speed up in the upcoming months of the third quarter,” Chhatwal mentioned following the quarterly results announcement. “November typically performs the best, particularly after the Diwali and Dussehra celebrations are over.” The last 25-21023 days will be powerful.
