Online food and quick commerce leader Swiggy introduced a new feature this festive season that enables users to effortlessly scan, write, or voice their entire shopping list, automatically creating a shopping cart for a seamless shopping experience, as stated in the company’s press release on Sunday, October 27. This shopping list feature is available on Swiggy’s Instamart platform, which offers fast commerce services to its users. The company made this decision following a viral post on platform X that requested a feature for a shopping list titled “Indian shop via shopping list.” According to the post, “Users will be able to create their shopping cart using a shopping list through three easy methods: ‘Say it,’ ‘Scan it,’ and ‘Write it.'” “The ‘Say it’ feature allows users to express their lists verbally—such as by saying ‘Apple, Mango, and Banana’—and the system will create a searchable list that can be added to their cart all at once,” the company stated. “We listened to you @GabbbarSingh,” said Phani Kishan A, Co-founder of Swiggy, in response to a post on platform X. The Co-founder pointed out that the company has launched a shopping list feature, which is currently being tested and will eventually be rolled out to all users. “The feature is in the pilot phase and we will gradually expand it to all users.” “Here’s a brief demonstration of your Shopping List,” said co-founder Phani Kishan A in response to Gabbar Singh’s post that mentioned, “Indians shop using shopping lists.” They visit a store, present their list to the shopkeeper, who gathers everything for them. It’s quite challenging to search for items, select the quantity, and add each one to the cart individually on your platforms. Please add a feature to upload a list. “And it prepares the cart for me.” The post became widely popular on social media, accumulating over 700,000 views after being shared by the co-founder of Join Hood App and the founder of Ginger Monkey.
